wood+paper+box is an artist collaborative that consists of Katie Baldwin, Mariko Jesse and Yoonmi Nam. We met in 2004 at the Nagasawa Art Park Residency (now called MI-LAB) in Japan. In 2014, marking our ten year anniversary, we began a long-distance collaborative. Every two years, we complete a themed box that contains a collection of our print exchanges. Projects include: wood+paper+box, AL>CA>KS, Un/Fold and mise en scène.

Shift-lab is a collective of five artists who expand their studio practices to collaborate on artist books and multiples. Shift-lab is Katie Baldwin (Huntsville, AL); Denise Bookwalter (Tallahassee, FL); Sarah Bryant (Tuscaloosa, AL); Macy Chadwick (Petaluma, CA); and Tricia Treacy (Boone, NC).
Since its founding in 2013, this collective has produced three major artist book projects as well as a number of smaller projects and printing events. Its most recent project REF (2019) investigates the transition from traditional reference texts in dedicated physical spaces toward the use of algorithmic relevance and keyword searches. Working together, members of the collective created fifteen responses to traditional reference texts using dates related to this transition as an organizational principle. The development of the project took place online, through contemporary technology such as Skype and Google docs, as well as in person in several locations across the United States.
The collective works to expand dialogue through exhibitions and projects that investigate narrative, communication and the book. Shift-lab continues to study the shift in contemporary perspectives relating to studio practice, collaboration and both digital vs. analogue experiences.
Mokuhanga Sisters is an international print collective. Between 2017 - 2019, nine artists met by chance at the Mokuhanga Innovation Laboratory in Kawaguchi-ko, Japan and catalyzed the formation of our group. We are Katie Baldwin (USA, University of Alabama Huntsville), Patty Hudak (Vermont, USA) , Mariko Jesse (UK/USA/HK), Kate MacDonagh (Ireland), Yoonmi Nam (USA/Korea), University of Kansas), Natasha Norman (South Africa), Mia O (Japan/Korea), Lucy May Schofield (UK), and Melissa Schulenberg (USA, St. Lawrence University).
